Laser Hair Removal

1.Basic principles of laser hair removal:

The growth of hair is a certain periodic, which is mainly related to the growth cycle of the hair follicles. The growth cycle of hair follicles is divided into growing phase, regression phase and resting phase. In the growing phase, hair matrix cells develop rapidly and differentiate into hair shaft, causing the hair to lengthen. During the regression phase, the hair bulb is degraded through apoptosis.

Subsequently, the hair follicle enters the resting phase, and the stem cells in or adjacent to the hair matrix cell re-differentiate into new hair follicles, and the hair follicles enter the initial growing phase again. Therefore, to achieve permanent hair removal, the stem cells in the hair bulb and at the dermal papilla need to be destroyed.

According to the theory of selective photothermolysis, the melanin in hair shaft can selectively absorb the red and a part of near infrared wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum and convert this energy into heat. Under the appropriate pulse width, the converted heat is conducted to the surrounding tissue, so as to destroy the adjacent hair follicle stem cells and achieve the goal of permanent hair removal.

2.The commonly used hair removal laser is as follows:

Ruby Laser, commonly used parameters: beam spot size: 6mm, pulse width: 270ms, energy density 30-60 J/cm2, suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I-Ⅲ.

    • Alexandrite Laser, commonly used parameters: beam spot size: 12.5mm, pulse width 40ms, energy density 16-24 J/cm 2, suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types Ⅲ-V.

    • DIODE Laser, commonly used parameters: beam spot size: 9mm, pulse width of 5-30ms, energy density 15-40 J/cm2, suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I-V.

    • Nd:YAG laser, commonly used parameters: beam spot size: 5mm, pulse width: 50ms, energy density 40-50 J/cm2, suitable for Fitzpatrick skin type VI.

2.1 What products do we have:

Diode Laser 600W, 1200W, 2000W

755 / 1064nm Alexandrite Laser / Nd:YAG Laser

2.2 What are the advantages of our laser for hair removal?

The 808nm wavelength laser can directly penetrate into hair follicle(depth of penetration). The melanin in the hair follicles absorbs the laser energy, which is safe for the epidermis as it minimizes the absorption of hemoglobin and water. With a simple structure, the laser produces effective results with fewer side effects, and it can be extended to utilize multiple wavelengths such as 755/808 (810)/940/1064nm.
